 2025 Middle School Season Has Ended

The middle school season, which kicked off Saturday, September 20st, concluded with the end of season tournament on Sunday, October 26th.  The following schools are fielded teams this year:

  • Amherst  (3 boys teams & 1 girls team)
  • Avon  (2 boys teams & 1 girls team)
  • Avon Lake  (3 boys teams & 1 girls team)
  • Firelands  (3 boys teams & 1 girls team)
  • Keystone  (3 boys teams & 1 girls team)

  • Midview  (1 boys team & 1 girls team)
  • North Olmsted  (2 boys teams & 1 girls team)

Congrats to our highest average bowlers in both the boys and girls division:

 2025 Middle School Season Starts Soon!

The Middle School bowling season kicks off Saturday, September 20th, with 24-28 teams across 10 schools competing.  The following schools are fielding teams this year:

This will be the third year officially under the North Shore Bowling Conference.  Matt Collier (Avon Lake) is our Middle School Coordinator and has put in many hours to get the program ready for this year. A big THANK YOU to the coaches from Amherst, Avon Lake & North Olmsted who started this program informally 6 years ago.

 NSBC Bowlers Competing At 2025 Junior Gold

The NSBC is being very well represented at the 2025 USBC Junior Gold Championships this week. A total of 11 bowlers from our league are in Green Bay, Wisconsin competing for an individual championship.

Competing in the U18 Girls division are Gabby Riba from Open Door CS and Katie Smith from Firelands.

Competing in the Boys division are Garrett Smith, Brady Smith and Grant Taylor from Amherst, Alex Roland, Nathan and Zach Smeal from Lutheran West, John Ambrose from Buckeye, Aiden Salkiewicz from Midview and Jakob Holland from North Ridgeville.

2025 USBC Junior Gold Championships

 2025 Middle School League Information

The NSBC Middle School League is actively seeking school commitments for the 2025 Fall season. Last year we had 10 schools represented across 4 divisions (Boys A, Boys B, Boys C & Girls) and are hoping to expand.

Our Middle School Coordinator Matt Collier is who you need to reach out to if you are in charge of a middle school bowling program & would like to be included in the 2025 season.

Returning middle school programs need to let Matt know ASAP if you are planning on returning. New schools need to commit by August 1st in order to be included. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Matt via email.

 2025 NSBC Scholarship Tournament - OFFICIAL RESULTS

The 2025 NSBC Scholarship Tournament was held on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, at Rebman Recreation. The tournament will be paying out $2,000 in scholarship money!

All scholarships earned are deposited through the SMART scholarship program with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). It usually takes several weeks for the scholarship notices to come back to the winners. All winners - please watch out for an email from Bowl.com or USBC with the key needed later for your scholarship when you are ready to redeem for college.

The girls were split into two divisions based on averages: 130 and higher, 129 and lower. Boys were also split into two divisions: 171 and up, 170 and lower.

 State-Bound NSBC Teams/Individuals

The North Shore Bowling Conference will be well represented again at state this year. A total of 3 teams and 2 individual bowlers will be competing at H.P. Lanes in Columbus very soon.

Congrats to the NSBC teams of North Ridgeville HS (D1 Boys), Lutheran West HS (D2 Boys) and Open Door Christian HS (D2 Girls) for advancing to State!

Congrats to the NSBC individuals who are also advancing to state: Bennett Ernst from Avon HS (D1 Boys) and Katie Smith from Firelands HS (D2 Girls)!

The schedule for the State Championships: D2 Girls - Friday, February 28th, D2 Boys - Saturday, March 1st, D1 Girls - Friday, March 7th, D1 Boys - Saturday, March 8th.

 2025 OHSAA Division 2 Lorain Sectionals - Results

The 2025 OHSAA Division 2 Lorain Sectionals was held on Sunday, February 9th at AMF Medina Lanes in Medina. On the boys side, there were 11 of our NSBC teams competing. For the girls, there were 10 of our NSBC teams competing.
